Carol Gray is the Director of The Gray Center for Social Learning and Understanding in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. She worked for many years as a teacher with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and then as a consultant to students with ASD in inclusive educational programs. In 1991, Carol developed Social Stories and Comic Strip Conversations - strategies that are used worldwide with children, adolescents, and adults with ASD. She has published several resources on topics related to children and adults with ASD, including articles on bullying, death and dying, and how to teach social understanding. Carol's full day workshops are fun and fast paced, full of many examples and positive, practical ideas.
AmaGol Services, in conjunction with Maree Whitworth in New Zealand, is bringing Carol to Australia and New Zealand for a Presentation Tour in May 2009. In Australia she will speak in Melbourne, Launceston, Adelaide and Sydney (see here) for full tour and host details).
Carol's Melbourne Presentations are being arranged by AmaGol Services. She will speak on Sunday May 24th and Monday May 25th at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in Southbank. Registration for these sessions is now open. The first session on Sunday will provide the background and necessary skills to write a Social Story and a Comic Strip Conversation. The second session on Monday is titled Kidastrophe to Cooperation and will put the basic tools of Social Stories and Comic Strip Conversations to work in a very practical way.
